Putting people first: our ongoing commitment to human rights
Our business is built on people. That’s why respecting human rights and ensuring safe, fair and ethical working conditions across our operations and supply chain remains a core priority at Glad Group.
We’ve recently published our sixth Modern Slavery Statement, outlining the actions taken during FY25 to identify, assess and reduce the risk of modern slavery across our business and supply chain, and reinforcing our ongoing commitment to transparency, accountability and continuous improvement.
As a provider of integrated property services, including cleaning, security, maintenance and concierge, we recognise the responsibility we hold within a labour‑intensive industry. Our approach is guided by the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights and embedded within our broader ESG framework.
FY25 highlights
During FY25, we continued to strengthen our approach to modern slavery risk management, with key initiatives including:
– Reducing the number of labour‑hire partners we engage, allowing deeper due diligence and stronger oversight of a smaller group of trusted providers
– Maintaining our EcoVadis Silver Medal, placing Glad Group in the top 25% of companies assessed globally for environmental, labour, human rights and governance practices
– Participating in customer‑led third‑party audits, supporting transparency and shared accountability
– Remaining an active signatory to the United Nations Global Compact and participant in the Modern Slavery Community of Practice
– Continuing our partnership with the Cleaning Accountability Framework (CAF), including achieving CAF Contractor Prequalification and supporting customers to reach CAF 3 Star Standard at multiple assets
Across our operations, no instances of modern slavery were identified during the reporting period. However, we recognise that risk remains present across our sector, particularly within complex supply chains and labour‑hire arrangements. Absence of identified cases does not equate to absence of risk.
Strengthening systems, culture and capability
Our modern slavery response is underpinned by strong governance, clear policies and practical controls. This includes:
– Enterprise‑wide risk management and ESG oversight
– Mandatory Modern Slavery Awareness training through Glad Academy
– Accessible grievance and whistleblower channels via Glad Life
– Risk‑based supplier due diligence, targeted audits and ongoing engagement
– Collaboration with customers, unions and industry bodies to strengthen worker voice and assurance
We also continue to invest in frontline leadership capability, recognising that early identification and escalation of risks often happens on site, day‑to‑day.
Looking ahead
Modern slavery risk management is not a one‑off exercise. In FY26 and beyond, our focus remains on strengthening supplier assurance, improving data quality, building workforce confidence in Speak Up mechanisms and continuing collaboration across our industry.
Because meaningful progress requires persistence, transparency and shared responsibility.
