On Friday the 9th of September the Property Industry Foundation (PIF) hosted Tour de PIF at Scheyville National Park, Sydney. Members of the property industry community came from all areas to walk, run and cycle raising funds for homeless youth.

We sent our awesome Glad Group team – Ivana Iloski, General Manager – Business Intelligence, Ann Shanahan, People and Insurance Manager, Cristina Da Silva, Payroll Manager and Tim Fielding, Operations Manager. Ann, Cristina, and Tim braved the rain and muddy grounds to walk 10kms while Ivana took on the challenge of the 20km run to finish first in the women’s division and 5th overall. Congratulations to you all for your tremendous efforts on the day!

The event raised over $200,000 which will go towards PIF’s latest inner-city project in Sydney. This project will be their biggest to date and will see them build over 20 purpose-built apartments to not only provide a safe home for young people but for them to benefit from a range of life skill programs that will set them on a path to succeed. This also adds to the great milestone that PIF have recently reached of having built an extra105 bedrooms for homeless youth in the last 5 years.

Did you know
  • Across Australia, 27,680 young people between 12-24 experience homelessness, and almost half of those are from NSW alone.
  • 90% of these youth have experienced violence in their own home before becoming homeless.
  • Young people experiencing homelessness are nine times more likely to take their own life and have a life expectancy of only 47 years.
  • 50-80% of young people experiencing homelessness have a higher chance of experiencing mental health issues.
Our longstanding partnership with PIF

Glad Group is a long-time supporter of the Property Industry Foundation (PIF) which is dedicated to reducing youth homelessness in Australia. The Foundation works closely with the building industry to raise funds to build homes and deliver ongoing support programs so that the homeless youth living on the streets have a place to come home to. Since2009, Glad Group has contributed $100,000 towards PIF and we are continuing to support the Foundation to change the lives of vulnerable young people across the country.
