The work of a security officer is central to our sense of safety when we visit a retail centre, ride public transport or when we are at work. In the back of our minds, we know that should we encounter the unexpected, there is someone to turn to for assistance.

Glad Group’s security officers hold many stories created from their workday experiences. Stories of going above and beyond to support building operations and helping the customers’ guests. Whether it is a moving building tenant, responding to incidents such as flooding and property damage, a code blue to perform CPR until emergency services arrive, to helping an elderly person lost and upset in the carpark after a day’s shopping. They touch the lives of many and often do not realise the impact of their service gestures.  Their stories demonstrate how each day they exceed expectations to deliver our organisational purpose by creating safe places and welcoming experiences every day.

Service Expectations

The performance of our security teams is of the highest standards. Currently guarding over 300 sites, our workforce of 850 security officers are dedicated, hardworking and flexible. The ongoing global pandemic has seen our security teams come together with our cleaning and guest services teams, as one team, one community, to support our customers and local communities across Australia and New Zealand. As an organisation we will continue to provide the right support and training needed to ensure our teams thrive within our new working world.

A Big Shout Out of Thanks

“The 24th of July is International Security Officer’s Day. To acknowledge this special day, we would like to thank all our security officers for being present every day. You are skillful in providing security operations which can take many forms – from patrolling, monitoring, welcoming guests, coordinating dock deliveries, communicating with building tenants, and generally ensuring the building is safe and secure. Your presence is reassuring and appreciated by all of us at Glad Group, our customers, and the communities we serve – thank you!”
