In an era marked by a heightened political climate and growing tensions among communities, security has become a paramount concern for businesses and individuals alike. Glad Group Services has taken proactive measures to ensure the safety and well-being of its customers and the broader community, through leveraging our Security Team experts to upskill our Cleaning Team division.
With a commitment to enhancing security standards, Glad Group Services has embarked on a transformative journey, empowering our team members to be vigilant and proactive through the “See Something, Say Something” initiative. As security challenges are constantly evolving, Glad Group Services has recognised the need to adapt and strengthen its approach to security.
Our primary mission is to provide integrated and holistic security services across all facilities management touchpoints. To accomplish this, we have made it a priority to equip our cleaning teams and Concierge with the tools to become front-line ambassadors of safety. These frontline employees, who are often the eyes and ears of an asset, have been trained to recognise unusual or suspicious activities and triage through a site-by-site escalation model.
Through cross training our diverse team members, we create a cohesive experience that priorities the safety of customers. Likewise, best-practice customer service is passed onto cleaning and security divisions from our Concierge business, Auxus. This approach empowers our employees, enhances security standards, minimizes risks, and creates a safer environment for customers and the broader community.
Rod Moolman, National Security & Counter Terrorism Manager, shared,” We have many real-life examples of cleaners who have played key roles in preventing security threats by being curious and engaged. The wonderful relationships between our security teams and our cleaning teams on the ground has fostered a formidable team approach to enhancing security for all.”
This proactive approach benefits both Glad Group Services and the customers we serve. The following are key aspects of how we are enhancing security and community safety:
Vigilance and Awareness: Cleaners are trained to be vigilant and aware of their surroundings. By actively observing their environment, they can identify and report any unusual behaviour, unauthorized individuals, or potential security threats.
Timely Reporting: The “See Something, Say Something” initiative stresses the importance of timely reporting. Cleaners are encouraged to report any concerns or suspicious activities immediately, ensuring a rapid response from security personnel if necessary.
Community Engagement: Glad Group Services sees its cleaners as integral members of the community they serve. By empowering them to take an active role in security, the company strengthens its connection with the community and fosters a sense of collective responsibility.
Security Culture: The initiative has fostered a culture of security consciousness within Glad Group Services. Team members understand that security is everyone’s responsibility, and they take pride in contributing to the safety and well-being of their customers and the broader community.
